Meet Jack Frost
Jack Frost aka J.C., is a fairly laid back guy who loves the great outdoors!!
One of his favorite things to do is sit outside, underneath a shady tree with his BFF and volunteer, relaxing and taking in the fresh air and scenery around them.
He is housebroken, rides well in the car, knows sign language (he's deaf) and has fantastic leash manners! Never had a deaf dog? No worries! At 5 years old, Jack Frost is very well mannered, has his Master's in sign language and the shelter's deaf dog trainer (& JC's BFF) will be with you every step of the way!
Not sure if you are quite ready? The shelter's Foster-to-Adopt program is a great way to learn if JC will be a good fit for your family prior to making the lifelong commitment of adoption. Be sure to ask an adoption specialist about this great program when you visit the shelter!
Considering a deaf dog?

Just like other dogs, deaf dogs learn hand commands and tricks. While they will never have the same recall skills as a hearing dog, they are just as trainable and obedient and make great pets.Deafness is often found in all white dogs. It seems that hearing cellsÂ? originate from the same cell family as pigment producing cells. Thus, the same deficiency that causes a lack of pigment may also reduce the dog's hearing.
